[Hello hello! This morning is looking to be a chilly one, if the view of New Bark Town over this particular feed is any indication; the ground is covered in a crisp blanket of white, the scenery is undisturbed, and the...uh, well, the feed is suddenly winging upward to shoot you a lovely and vaguely motion-sickness-inducing view of the sky. There's a soft, childish noise of fascination with it before the view shifts again - when it finally focuses on something that isn't the trees or the passing clouds, its camera appears to have settled on a young boy. He looks to be around the age of ten, with messy black hair and dark eyes that seem to be glittering with a violet tint to them.

...he also looks like he's freezing, because what on earth is being dressed properly for this weather. Seems he didn't get the memo that hey, it's cold outside, a coat is probably a good idea.

However! He's smiling despite the cold, offering the brightest 8D expression that a young boy can give through that much shivering.]

Ah, so is this how this works? Um...hello! My name is Selim Bradley, and it seems that I'm...well, a bit lost...

[His gaze shifts a bit, suddenly downcast, and he frowns, thinking.]

I woke up in a strange house, you see, with a woman claiming to be my mother - but I'd never seen her before in my life! My real mother is probably worried sick; she and Father warned me that this might happen one day. My father is a very important person; there was always the fear that I would be kidnapped in the night. So it's really urgent that I get back to them right away!

I'm sure my father would be willing to offer you some sort of reward for helping sort this out - if anyone can tell me how to get in contact with Fuhrer King Bradley, I need to know right away.

[He jumps suddenly and stops short, having been interrupted by a godawful screech from somewhere behind him; a Misdreavus is visible behind him when he turns his body to look at it. When he returns to the device, his expression is...more than a little sheepish.]

Thank you for listening, and if anyone knows where I can, um, return this pet that was given to me - wait, is that rude? Because I don't mean to be rude! I just...don't...really want it, and that strange man in town refuses to take it back, he just welcomes me to the world of, um, po-kay-mons again.

Something like that... There are hundreds of different types of Pokemon roaming around, unfortunately. Some of them are quite friendly, though. But you'll definitely need the protection for a few.

Were you given strange red-and-white balls...? You can catch more Pokemon with those. They say that the way to get home is to complete a challenge, by defeating the 8 gym leaders scattered across this world, plus a group called the Elite Four.

[ A pause, to make sure you're getting all of this. ]

[SUDDENLY, THE MOST EXCITED!]

You know Edward Elric?! The Fullmetal Alchemist, right? He's the youngest State Alchemist ever, and he's strong and cool and...kinda short but that's okay, even if he gets mad about it sometimes! I got to meet him once and he was...it was just the greatest!

[This is bad. If that's really the person you're talking about, this is likely really bad; Ed's possibly been causing problems for Kimblee at Briggs, there's a good chance he knows if he's been telling people about the Fuhrer, but for now Selim is just going to be a good little fanboy.]

[He furrows his brow a bit in thought.]

Mis-drea-vus came in. I think that's what she's called. It's what that weird machine said, anyway.

So how do you beat these gym leaders? With the creatures, I guess?

[ He nods. ] Yes. Your creatures against theirs. There's one in every city, if I'm not mistaken.

[ He can't tell you much more than that, unfortunately. Maes hasn't actually challenged a gym leader yet. ]

I believe right now, you're in New Bark Town. [ That's where most of the people who weren't Rockets had told him they started out in anyways... ] I'm a few cities ahead of you, but I'm actually heading back in that direction...! It will probably be a little while before I could reach there... [ .... he has to make a pit stop and wrestle with another boy, first... ] But, if you need anything!

[No, seriously, what is he supposed to do with Queen Herpderp back there]

You can try training that -- [ what was it named, now? Something long and obnoxious... ] -- Pokemon. What I did, was stayed close to the town, and ventured out little by little! There are usually hospitals named "Pokemon Centers" in every city that will help heal your injured Pokemon.

If you feel up to it, you can travel towards me and we can meet half-way! If not, just stay in that city and work on training it little by little~

[ A pause. ] Were you given anything else?

[Smiling at those instructions, Hughes!]

Oh, that does sound like a good idea - I'll try that, then!

...and, um. I was given a bag and kind of...shoved out the door really quickly. Some woman gave it to me, she said she was my mom...

[He actually seems troubled at that for a moment, hang on.]

I've never seen her before, but she's saying she's my mom. I don't know why.

That... is apparently normal here. [ Small laugh. He didn't have to go through that, but every time he hears about it, Maes is amused. Also, Maes keeps picturing Roy being shoved out of the house by some woman claiming to be his mother. ] I wouldn't put too much thought into it, honestly.

... But the bag might hold useful things.

[ Have the equally MOST CHEERFUL of replies, Selim.

She's not interested in any rewards, she just looks concerned. You look too young to be stuck here alone and she's not sure if telling you your parents won't be worried is a good thing in this case because what child wants to hear that they won't be missed and alkfasd this is sort of terrible but D: WHAT DO I DO?! ]

[Gorthan tends to not think much of posts from cute kids, because cute kids are yet another one of those many things about Earth and its civilization that he's still not sure whether he should consider repulsive or absolutely adorable, slightly leaning towards the latter most of the time. But. He has clear memories of something that Kimblee said once.]

I'm afraid all I know is that he is a military authority in the country of Amestris.

I have never met him, nor do I know what he looks like. But, judging from the little I know of him, I'm sure he is a fascinating individual.
